My photographic journey began in 1974 when I purchased my first SLR camera (film, of course) in anticipation of an exciting back-packing expedition into a national wilderness area in the high Sierra Nevada mountains that I wanted to record. For years I casually shot the family vacations, excursions, and events.
Around 2006 my son Matt and I began experiencing an increasing interest in photography, so we decided to take two semesters of basic photography and dark room technique together. However; it wasn't until I purchased photography courses by Joel Sartore, and Tony and Chelsea Northrup that my enthusiasm increased even more. I decided to go digital in 2013, and I haven’t looked back since.
The purpose of this site is to introduce family, friends, and acquaintances to my photos. I hope it encourages them to approach me for their next photographic project.
Please call (209) 769-5603, or email fmtza72@sbcglobal.net if this portfolio suggests that a future collaboration might interest you.
Thanks to all the family and friends who have patiently helped me with my photographic journey and allowed me to photograph them. I am especially thankful to my wife Rosemary, and my son Matt.
